Hi, Kate H! I have found a Cabinet Card of Herman Webster Mudgett & made a Facebook Page for it --> Here--> https://www.facebook.com/H-W-Mudgett-MD-alias-HH-Holmes-Cruel-Salvation-263586904000956/ I think you will find this Very Interesting -Blue. -Ps: I'd like you to post a link to your Mistress of Murder Castle Blog there, if you will, Please? -Thanks!
Of course you may post a link to the blog (which is currently in the process of being updated with new posts) on your page.
Your picture is interesting. From the writing on the card, it looks as though it was taken in Augusta, Maine. I did some research, collected some documents, and found that there was a Captain Benjamin Thatcher working at the Augusta Salvation Army in May of 1885. He got arrested after ignoring Mayor George Weeks' order to stop hosting daily parades and banging drums. Even up through 1887 he was still fighting in the Maine Supreme Judicial Court to get his drum back from authorities.
I'd be interested in knowing what you have learned about the image.
